Healing guide
Proper aftercare is essential for beautiful, lasting results. Select your service below for detailed instructions.
Your tattoo needs 2–4 weeks to fully heal. The way you care for it in the first few days makes all the difference in how it looks long-term.
Leave the wrap your artist applied on for 2–4 hours. If using second skin / saniderm, leave for 3–5 days.
Wash gently with fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water 2–3 times a day. Pat dry — never rub.
Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or tattoo balm 2–3x daily. Less is more — don't smother it.
No direct sunlight, swimming, or soaking (baths, hot tubs) for at least 3–4 weeks while healing.
Peeling is normal. Never pick, scratch, or peel flaking skin — it will pull out the ink.
Once healed, apply SPF 30+ sunscreen whenever the tattoo is exposed to prevent fading.
Signs of infection: Excessive redness, swelling, pus, or fever are not normal. If you experience these symptoms, contact a medical professional immediately — and let us know so we can help.
New piercings typically take 6–12 months to fully heal depending on placement. Consistency with your aftercare routine is key.
Clean your piercing 2x daily with sterile saline spray (0.9% sodium chloride). Spray directly and let air dry.
Don't touch, twist, or rotate your jewelry — this is a myth that causes irritation and slows healing.
If you sweat, swim, or get the piercing dirty, rinse with saline immediately afterward.
For ear piercings, use a travel pillow or clean pillowcase to reduce pressure while sleeping.
No alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or tea tree oil — these are too harsh and damage healing tissue.
Don't change your jewelry until the piercing is fully healed. Come see us and we'll do it safely.
Some discharge and mild swelling are normal in the first few weeks. Seek medical attention if you notice spreading redness, hot skin, thick green/yellow pus, or fever.
